Video Guide
Quick Reference Summary
- Use a modern smartphone with 4K 60fps recording. No zoom, no ultra-wide lenses.
- Film in even lighting, preferably indoors or on an overcast day. Avoid direct sunlight and dark rooms.
- Avoid filming in locations with many reflective objects in the background
- Walk around the model three times, adjusting the camera height on each pass to capture views from above, below, and straight on.
- The subject should stay still, with a comfortable expression held for one minute.
- The video taker should capture all angles, covering the entire head—including the top and under the chin.
- Keep the video length between 45-60 seconds.
- Remove glasses and large earrings (hoops/dangling). Studs are okay but recommended to remove.
- Brush back loose hair strands—thin strands do not scan well and may not appear in the final model.

Video Requirements
Camera
- Any modern smartphone will work well.
- Set the resolution to 4K at 60 fps for the best results.
- Do not use ultra-wide lenses. They distort the face.
- Do not zoom in before or during recording.
Environment & Lighting Conditions
- Avoid filming in locations with many reflective objects in the background.
- Use even lighting to avoid harsh shadows or bright spots.
- Avoid backlighting—light should come from the front or sides.
- Keep the background still. Moving objects can confuse the capture process.
- Best conditions: Indoors with controlled lighting or outdoors on an overcast day.
- Avoid filming in direct sunlight—harsh light rays cause distortions.
- Do not film in dark, poorly lit rooms.
Examples of bad lighting/environment:

Subject Guidelines
Posture
- Stay as still as possible. Minimize blinking and sudden movements.
- Choose any facial expression, but make sure you can hold it for a full minute.
- Keep your neck straight. Avoid hunching your neck if possible.
Hair Preparation
- Thin, stray hair strands do not scan well and may appear missing or fragmented.
- Brush hair back or secure it to avoid strands sticking out unnaturally.
- Avoid loose bangs or wispy hair near the face—these might not appear in the final bust.
Glasses, Earrings, and Reflective Objects
- Do not wear glasses during filming.
- Remove large earrings (hoops, dangling, etc.), as they cause distortions and gaps in the scan.
- Stud earrings can be left in, but it's recommended to remove them for better results.
- Avoid shiny objects (jewelry, metallic hairpins, etc.), as they don’t capture well in the scan.
Video Taker Instructions
- Walk around the model three times, adjusting the camera height on each pass to capture views from above, below, and straight on.
- Capture every part of the head evenly. Missing areas = missing details in the bust.
- Each point should be filmed from at least 3 different angles.
- Don’t forget the top of the head and under the chin. These are commonly missed areas.
- Keep the video length between 45-60 seconds. Don't rush, but don't take too long to avoid making the subject uncomfortable.
